“Phra Ruang” is the name of the king of the Sukhothai period who was a builder of the city with Buddhist
principles, with agriculture, irrigation, transportation, trading, handicrafts, and Thai fonts (Lai Sue
Thai). It became a peaceful environment, with the happiness of the people thanks to the virtues of the
king. There were the local tales of Phra Ruang saying that he had supernatural words passing many
valuable things through several generations. The places or activities with this symbol can be assumed as
the heritage inherited from the Phra Ruang dynasty as the "Art on the Origin of Siam" and is also the
heritage which the locals are proud of.
